Hello, Jan. Chris Buxton, host of "The Psychedelicatessen" on WRFL, recently gave me a copy of your CD, "Distant Shores". After listening to it I can say unequivocally that it's nothing short of a treasure from the golden age of progressive rock. A great melding of influences...from Yes, Van der Graaf Generator, King Crimson, Gryphon, and several other definitive prog bands, but not merely a copy of their sounds. The songwriting makes it much better than that. ... (Comment about a friends band excised) As you are no doubt aware, prog-rock has been undergoing a small but steady renaissance since the advent of the Internet. Regional U.S. prog bands from the 70's, like Easter Island and Starcastle, are regrouping and recording new material right now. My WRFL program, which is dedicated to prog-rock, is broadcast Saturdays, 6-9 PM, and I'd be most interested in having you on to talk about Northwind, your CD, and the genre in general. ... however, as a prog-rock devotee since 1969, and one who has programmed progressive music on radio for 14 of my 52 years, I believe prog fans today deserve the chance to find out about Northwind, and to obtain copies of the music. Thank you for your time. I look forward to your reply.
